Cycle Together Heritage Project
The purpose of this project was to engage with all sections of the community through cycling around heritage to encourage the use of cycling as means of transport, leisure, physical exercise, and heritage and nature appreciation.
Festival of Walking
This project aimed to support community engagement in movement/physical activity and connect people with nature for the YHA Festival of Walking, with a particular focus on overcoming financial barriers caused by Covid-19 and/or the cost-of-living crisis. The target audience for this project was families from South Asian backgrounds who are less likely to be physically active.
Family Sports Project
The purpose of this project was to engage with parents from the South Asian community of Oldham
as we know from experience of working in the BAME community and national statistics that there is
an increase in their inactivity, more so as a result of the pandemic.
Fun Football
The weekly fun football sessions organized by Yuvanis Foundation serve as a vibrant and inclusive
platform for boys and girls aged 7 and above. These sessions are meticulously designed to be more
than just football training; they provide a welcoming and supportive environment where young
people can socialise, exercise, and enhance their physical health.
Mums & Tots
The purpose of this project was to engage with parents and children from the South Asian community
of Oldham to understand their support and development needs to better inform organizational and
project decisions.
