The Million Hours Fund is a £22 million jointly funded initiative from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) and The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK. The programme funds organisations to provide positive activities for young people in areas with high levels of antisocial behaviour.
Thanks to the generous funding and support from the National Lottery Community Fund, Yuvanis Foundation is excited to introduce a fresh approach to community support. The Wellbeing Hubs, comprising Women’s Hub, Youth Hub, and Men’s Hub, are tailored to meet the unique needs of South Asian heritage, BAME communities, and the wider Oldham community.
The hubs aim to provide safe, supportive environments for personal growth, skill development, and social inclusion, particularly beneficial for those facing inequalities such as lower socio-economic backgrounds, high unemployment, and social isolation. By breaking down barriers and promoting community cohesion, the hubs seek to enhance life conditions and empower individuals to overcome obstacles and thrive.
Yuvanis Foundation’s commitment to evidence-based practices and community feedback ensures the effectiveness of the Wellbeing Hubs. By scaling efforts and introducing innovative programs, the foundation aims to make a significant difference in the lives of BAME communities, fostering a stronger, more resilient, and connected society.
